I created this page as a place to put drafts of my creative writing, but I couldn’t overlook that for many of my generation the word draft meant more than an unfinished written item. Those drafts are elsewhere.<\/p>\n
My experience with the draft, the menacing kind, the selective service system kind, was very important to me and shaped my life. I was fortunate in that I had the benefit of a reasonable draft board, something that seemed unlikely in those days but was true in my experience. I think my expectation was that they would be. And they were. That was a important lesson as well. One that has also carried through my life.<\/p>\n
So, before I direct you to the other drafts page, let me add one more thing. I’m proud of this experience. It brought out an aspect that would have been overlooked if not for the draft.<\/p>\n
